Is UBERMOSH:OMEGA Still Worth Your 99 Cents in 2026?
UBERMOSH:OMEGA has been this tiny, neon-drenched secret in my Steam library since it released back in 2019. It’s a top-down arena shooter where you’re just thrown into the chaos with a sword and a gun, trying to survive waves of enemies while that crunchy synth soundtrack pounds away. The pixel art is so bright it almost hurts, and the movement feels so tight that when you pull off a perfect dodge, it’s pure bliss. But it’s also brutally hard—one hit and you’re back to the start, which can be a little deflating after a good run.
I keep coming back for those quick sessions, but I know this kind of game isn’t for everyone. So, for those of you who’ve spent time with it: do you think it’s still worth picking up at 99 cents? Are there any beginner tips that helped you stop dying so fast? And how does it stack up against other arcade shooters you love? I’d especially love to hear about weapon combos or movement tricks that made the game click for you.

It's worth it purely for the movement tech. The key to surviving is treating the blade as your primary defense rather than just a melee finisher. You can swipe through dense bullet spreads to carve safe zones, and buffering your dashes right out of a swing cuts down on recovery frames. Once you master the cadence of slashing incoming fire while drifting toward open space, the hitboxes start making a lot more sense.
