Description
Probably Stolen drops you straight into a cramped cargo bay on a crumbling space station where every deal feels one step away from going sideways. You spend your days haggling with shady customers, figuring out which crates are safe to open and which ones might get you disappeared, all while trying to scrape together enough credits before the landlord jacks up rent again. It's equal parts shop sim and moral tightrope walk, and I was surprised how quickly it got under my skin.
Review
The gameplay loop is simple on the surface but keeps throwing curveballs that force you to think on your feet. You haggle prices, break down salvaged parts, and try to keep the shelves stocked without drawing too much attention from the station's various factions. What makes it click is how every transaction carries weight. Sell the wrong item to the wrong person and suddenly you're locked out of a whole district, or worse, someone's got a price on your head. The only real frustration comes from the inventory management, which can get fiddly when you're juggling dozens of tiny components with similar names, but even that starts to feel like part of the job after a while. The visuals lean into that lived-in cyberpunk vibe without going overboard. Everything looks grimy and patched together, from the flickering neon signs to the way your shop counter is literally made from an old shipping crate. The sound design sells the atmosphere even better. You get constant background chatter from the station's residents, the hum of failing life support systems, and this low, pulsing synth track that shifts depending on who's visiting your shop. It all adds up to a place that feels like it's barely holding together, which fits the game's whole "one bad deal from disaster" energy. If you like games where the systems matter more than the story beats, this is worth your time. The faction system and the constant pressure to make rent create this tension that pushes you to take bigger risks, and the game is smart about letting those choices snowball without ever feeling unfair. It's not for players who want clear good guys and bad guys, or for anyone who gets frustrated when plans go sideways. But if you enjoy juggling risk and reward while watching your little shop slowly turn into something that actually matters in this messy station, Probably Stolen delivers.
