Description

If you've ever wanted to just zone out and cast a line without any pressure or story getting in the way, Russian Fishing 4 might scratch that itch. It's a big open world full of lakes and rivers where you can wander around, tweak your gear, and catch fish at your own pace. Being free to play makes it easy to try, though you'll quickly see how the systems pull you in deeper.

Review

The core loop is all about patience and small choices like picking the right rod, bait, and spot, then timing your reel just right so the line doesn't snap. It feels rewarding when a big catch finally comes in after sitting there for minutes, and the RPG side lets you level skills like casting distance or fish knowledge to make progress feel real. Still, the grind can drag hard if you're not into repeating the same casts over and over, and the free to play model sometimes pushes you toward buying convenience items to speed things up. Graphics are solid enough with realistic water ripples and decent fish animations that make the catches look satisfying, but the world itself stays pretty basic with flat landscapes and limited detail once you've seen a few spots. Sound does a lot of the heavy lifting though, with natural water sounds, bird calls, and the satisfying reel clicks that really sell the calm outdoor feel and help you settle into the slow rhythm. If you enjoy simulator games and have the patience for long sessions of methodical fishing without needing constant action, this one is worth booting up since the free entry lets you explore without risk. Skip it if you want quick thrills or deep narratives though, because the whole thing lives and dies on whether you actually like staring at a bobber for hours. It's a niche pick that shines for the right kind of player who treats it more like a hobby than a game.
