GTA 6 Vehicle Mod Shops: What the Ultimate Edition's Two Shops Might Offer

Rockstar's June 2026 press release confirming GTA 6's editions and pricing revealed that the $99.99 Ultimate Edition includes two exclusive Vehicle Mod Shops alongside premium vehicles, apparel, and story-threaded content. Beyond that brief mention, the developer has not publicly detailed how these shops will function or what sets them apart from any standard customization options in the game.

Confirmed: Two Exclusive Shops in the Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition's two Vehicle Mod Shops are a confirmed perk of that version. Rockstar's official description lists them alongside other exclusive items, but no further specifics have been shared—no names, locations, or feature lists. The standard edition will presumably include some form of vehicle customization, as car theft and chases are core to the gameplay shown so far, but the Ultimate Edition shops are positioned as an extra.

What Rockstar Has Shown About Vehicle Customization So Far

Official trailers and the August 2026 Extended Look have focused on driving, heists, and the open world rather than deep modification systems. The fact sheet notes that stealing some vehicles requires specific tools, suggesting a layer of vehicle interaction beyond simply entering a car. Previous Rockstar titles, particularly GTA V and GTA Online, established extensive mod shops like Los Santos Customs where players could upgrade performance, visuals, and weapons. It is reasonable to expect GTA VI to build on that foundation, but Rockstar has not confirmed any specific customization mechanics—no part swapping, paint jobs, or performance tuning have been officially detailed.

What These Exclusive Shops Could Offer (Speculation)

Without official word, we can only make educated guesses. Based on GTA V’s mod shops and the Ultimate Edition’s mention of “premium vehicles,” the two shops might grant access to unique parts, exclusive visual styles, or performance upgrades not available elsewhere. They could be tied to the “story-threaded content” also included in the Ultimate Edition, perhaps unlocking after certain missions or serving as hubs for side activities. The shops might be located in specific regions of Leonida—one in Vice City and another in a more remote area like Port Gellhorn or Ambrosia—encouraging travel. Alternatively, they could offer services like weaponized vehicle modifications, a staple of GTA Online, though Rockstar has stressed the single-player focus at launch. All of this remains unconfirmed, and players should treat these ideas as speculation until Rockstar provides clarity.

What We Still Don't Know

Many questions linger. Will standard vehicle customization be gated behind these shops, or are they merely cosmetic/performance bonuses? Are they accessible from the start, or do they unlock through progression? Will they have any role in a future multiplayer mode? Rockstar has not said if the two shops are tied to specific characters or if both Jason and Lucia can use them. The lack of a PC version announcement also leaves open how (or if) these shops will function when the game eventually arrives on that platform. For now, the only certainty is that the Ultimate Edition includes two Vehicle Mod Shops—everything else is guesswork.

Locking entire garages behind a premium tier hurts my soul. If those shops just end up being cosmetic paint booths with shiny neon signs, paying extra is going to feel like daylight robbery. I need to know if they actually save in-game cash on repairs or if it is purely for bragging rights. Standard edition is looking plenty fine from where I sit.

Remember when San Andreas just gave us TransFender, Wheel Arch Angels, and Loco Low Co. as normal parts of the world? Locking distinct mod garages behind special editions feels wild. I miss when discovering a cool tuning spot was a reward for exploring the map, not something tied to your checkout receipt.

I completely agree on the discovery aspect. Part of the magic is stumbling across a hidden garage tucked away in a quiet alley or out along a coastal highway while the radio plays. I really hope the regular map still gives us cozy, atmospheric spots to tinker with our rides, even without the fancy exclusive perks.
