GTA 6's Leonida Mapped: Vice City, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn and More – Every Official Region Revealed
Following the release of Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, Rockstar updated the official Grand Theft Auto VI website with a breakdown of the state of Leonida’s key regions, alongside an introduction to new characters and around 70 in-game screenshots. The update gave players their clearest look yet at the world beyond Vice City.
The confirmed locations include Vice City itself, featuring neon-soaked Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market, the VC Port, and Starfish Island. To the south are the Leonida Keys, a tropical island chain. Inland, Grassrivers presents a swampland of mangroves and alligators—Rockstar’s take on the Everglades. Port Gellhorn is a faded vacation town with cheap motels and strip clubs, while Ambrosia brings a rural, industrial edge with the Allied Crystal sugar refinery and a biker gang presence. North of it all lies Mount Kalaga National Park, a wilderness area for hunting, fishing, and off-roading. Character profiles for figures like Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, and Dre'Quan Priest were also added, deepening the story setup.
Rockstar has not issued an official full map, but the website details confirm the scope of Leonida. For everything we know about the GTA 6 map and locations, including analysis of how these regions might connect, head to our dedicated hub page.

Seeing Starfish Island and Ocean Beach named officially brings back so many memories of cruising past the neon strips on the PS2 with the radio blasting. The sheer jump in scope from the original renderware Vice City to an entire state with mountains and swamps is wild, though I really hope the classic retro atmosphere doesn't get completely buried under modern realism.
Atmosphere aside, looking at Grassrivers with dense mangrove foliage and Mount Kalaga makes my hardware sweat in advance. If Rockstar's volumetric lighting and dense water physics hit like they usually do, we are staring down a heavy console lock and a PC port that will bring mid-range rigs to their knees. Good luck to anyone hoping to run this on a handheld anytime soon.
Port Gellhorn up to Mount Kalaga sounds like a massive trek. What I really care about is vehicle physics and traversal mechanics. If driving feels sluggish or overly locked down, crossing those swamplands and mountain ranges is going to kill any momentum. Hopefully airboats and off-road vehicles have tight handling and real speed potential for navigating the terrain.
Traversing fast is fun, but I am far more curious about how these distinct regions tie into actual world systems. Ambrosia having biker outfits while Port Gellhorn has that seedy motel vibe suggests localized faction dynamics or territory logic. If the game gives us genuine sandbox choices and systemic depth across these zones instead of rigid, linear mission corridors, the scale will actually mean something.
