Unconfirmed: Sensor Tower Data Claims Millions of GTA 6 Digital Pre-Orders
Unconfirmed rumor. This post discusses leaks, reports or speculation that Rockstar has not confirmed. Treat it as unofficial until there is an announcement.

Unconfirmed: Sensor Tower data reportedly indicates that Grand Theft Auto VI has accumulated millions of digital pre-orders by October 2026, according to estimates shared by the analytics firm. The claim has sparked discussion about the game's potential launch sales, but it remains a third-party projection rather than a confirmed figure.

What the rumor says

By October 2026, mobile analytics and market intelligence company Sensor Tower reportedly published data suggesting that GTA 6 digital pre-orders have reached into the millions across the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store. The exact number was not publicly disclosed, and the methodology behind the estimate—whether it tracks app store data, surveys, or other signals—is unclear. The claim aligns with broader analyst expectations of massive first-year sales, but it has not been corroborated by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.

What Rockstar has actually confirmed

Rockstar and Take-Two have not released any official pre-order numbers. Confirmed details about GTA 6 price & editions are limited to what was announced in the June 24, 2026 press release: pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026, with a Standard Edition at $79.99 and an Ultimate Edition at $99.99. Digital pre-orders include a free month of GTA+, and a pre-order bonus (the Vintage Vice City Pack) is available before November 20, 2026. The game launches on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version has been announced, and no sales or pre-order milestones have been shared by the publisher.

Sensor Tower's report, if accurate, would suggest strong early demand, but it is not a confirmed sales figure. Until Rockstar or Take-Two issues an official statement, the claim remains an unverified estimate. As with all pre-release data from third parties, treat it with caution.

Digital copies are not going to sell out, folks. I really do not understand locking down your cash months in advance for a couple of cosmetics and a temporary subscription perk. Rockstar makes incredible worlds, sure, but holding onto your wallet until launch week reviews drop costs absolutely nothing.

Spot on. Beyond the money side, handing over pre-orders on pure brand momentum signals that they do not need to show substantive systems beforehand. I want to know if mission design has finally evolved past their rigid corridor format, and how reactive the emergent world simulation actually is, before putting my faith in it.

I feel that. Vice City looks breathtaking in the glimpses we have seen, especially the coastal wetlands and that neon skyline, and I cannot wait to just drift down the highway soaking in the soundtrack. Still, there is something nice about waiting until we see the full atmosphere in motion rather than rushing in blindly.
