Does the GTA 6 physical edition come with a disc?
No, the physical edition of Grand Theft Auto VI does not include a game disc. It’s a download code tucked inside a box, arriving on November 12, 2026—a full week before the November 19 launch. Rockstar’s press release confirmed this back in June, so if you’re hoping to slide a shiny Blu-ray into your console, you’ll be disappointed. The box itself will still look lovely on a shelf, with that sun-soaked Vice City art, but it’s purely a vessel for a code.
When you pre-order the physical Standard ($79.99) or Ultimate Edition ($99.99), you’re essentially buying a digital license in a tangible package. The pre-order bonus Vintage Vice City Pack—a two-tone ’55 Vapid Stanier, a garage, outfits, and a weapon pattern—is included for any purchase before November 20, so you won’t miss out. However, the free month of GTA+ is tied to digital pre-orders only, not the physical box. Also worth noting: the lavish Goodtime State – Vice City Collection ($399.99) is a collectible set with no game at all, so don’t confuse it with an actual copy.
What’s still unconfirmed? Whether Rockstar might ever release a disc version later, perhaps for collectors or as a special run. Right now, there’s no word on that. And since a PC version hasn’t been officially announced, any physical PC edition remains a mystery. For the full timeline and platform details, check our release date hub.
