I usually lean toward co-op games, but the dark humor and zombie side hustle in Graveyard Keeper 2 pulled me in. It's been out for a little over a month, and at $24.99 I'm still on the fence about whether the solo management loop stays fun or turns into busywork.
What I'd love to hear from you
- Is it worth jumping in now, or should I wait for a sale?
- What's the best way to set up automation early without everything breaking when resources run low?
- How do the undead battles feel compared to just managing the graveyard?
- If you liked the original or games like Stardew Valley, does this keep that same weird charm?
For context, I enjoy management sims like Planet Zoo 2, but I'm not great at juggling too many systems at once. Does Graveyard Keeper 2 respect your time, or is it a second job? Any early-game tips for keeping paths and resources flowing would be awesome.

The atmosphere is really what won me over. If you play it like a rigid checklist sim, it can definitely start to feel like work, but the melancholic soundtrack and gloomy lighting make wandering between tasks surprisingly soothing. My advice is not to rush the tech tree too hard. Getting a couple helpers on basic wood and stone early gives you enough breathing room to just take in the map.
