GTA6 Countdown: Days Until the November 19, 2026 Launch
The wait is almost over. As of today, October 24, 2026, we're just 26 days away from stepping into the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and the wilds of Leonida. It's been a long road—delays from Fall 2025 to May 2026, then to this November date—but Rockstar's promise of extra polish now feels tantalizingly close. I'm already imagining the first moments: the hum of a vintage radio station, the glare of sun off Ocean Beach, and that distinctive art direction that makes every Rockstar world feel lived-in.
Confirmed Launch Details
Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version. If you pre-order digitally, you can pre-load starting November 12—exactly one week early. Physical editions also arrive that day, though they come with a download code rather than a disc.
The Standard Edition costs $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition is $99.99 and bundles exclusive vehicles, apparel, weapons, story-threaded content, and two Vehicle Mod Shops. Pre-ordering either edition before November 20 nets you the Vintage Vice City Pack: a two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, the Shore Court Garage on Ocean Beach, throwback outfits for Jason and Lucia, and a weapon pattern. Digital pre-orders also include a free month of GTA+. And if you're a soundtrack lover like me, you can already pre-save Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album on streaming services or pre-order it on vinyl and CD—the Launch Trailer's original track "Flower in a Hurricane" by Justice feat. Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard hints at something special.
What We're Hearing: PC and Online Rumors
Rockstar has not announced a PC version. Take-Two's CEO has said the console-first approach is historical, not tied to any exclusivity deal. An October GamesBeat report, covered by outlets like The Verge and Polygon, suggests a PC release in Q1 2027, but that remains unconfirmed. Similarly, while the press release describes GTA VI as a single-player experience at launch, there's chatter about a separate GTA Online launch in 2027—again, just rumors for now.
Still Unknown: Map Size, Multiplayer, and More
Rockstar has teased the state of Leonida through trailers and an Extended Look, but a full official map hasn't been shared, and no one has confirmed how it compares to GTA V's scale. The exact length of the story, the fate of online multiplayer, and potential post-launch content are all questions we'll have to wait to see answered. For now, the countdown is on—and that pre-load date is the next big milestone on the calendar.
