GTA6 PC Release: Is the Q1 2027 Rumor True?
So the big GTA 6 launch is locked in for November 19 on console, and I've got my digital pre-order ready. But my PC friends are still left refreshing Rockstar's official channels. An October GamesBeat report — picked up by The Verge and Polygon — suggests a PC release as soon as Q1 2027. That's exciting, but let's remember: it's unconfirmed, and Rockstar hasn't said a word. Take-Two's CEO has stressed that console-first is just how they operate, not some exclusive deal. Given the game's two major delays, I'm skeptical Q1 2027 will stick, if it's even real. As a couch co-op lover, I'm dying to know if PC will get any split-screen or cross-play when it lands — nothing's been announced there either.
So, what do you think? Are you holding out for a PC version, or biting the bullet on console? How much stock do you put in that GamesBeat rumor? And if it does hit PC in early 2027, what's the first mod you'd want to see?

Classic Rockstar playbook. They want everyone to buy the console edition at full price, then double-dip on PC later down the road. Holding out is tough, but paying twice for the exact same campaign just stings. If that rumor pans out, at least PC players might get a more stable build with fewer technical headaches.
Double-dipping aside, the real pain of waiting for PC is missing out on uncapped framerates and clean mouse inputs on day one. Rockstar games always tie vehicle handling and physics quirks to frame pacing in weird ways. Lab testing mechanics on console is fine, but PC is where movement routing actually shines.
That wait is practically a franchise tradition at this point. We did the exact same waiting game back in the PS2 era with Vice City and San Andreas, hoping our clunky home rigs could even render the draw distance without choking. Still, nothing beats having custom radio stations and proper controls once it finally arrives.
Per GamesBeat's reporting, the projected window remains tentative, as Take-Two has historically prioritized console optimization before expanding to desktop platforms. Industry outlets like Polygon note that official roadmaps haven't committed to any post-launch window, so any timeline remains purely speculative until Rockstar issues formal communication.
