How to Pre-Order GTA 6: The Album on Vinyl, CD, and Streaming
There's something special about a physical soundtrack. I still have my old Vice City box set on CD, and those tunes defined an era. So when Rockstar confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is coming to vinyl and CD, my retro-loving heart did a flip. Here's the lowdown on how to pre-order it, pre-save it on streaming, and what we're still waiting to hear.
What's Confirmed About the Soundtrack
Rockstar's official GTA 6 press release (June 24, 2026) states that the official soundtrack is available to pre-save on streaming services and to pre-order on vinyl or CD. That's the extent of the official word — no tracklist, no price, no specific store links yet. The announcement came alongside game pre-order details, so it's clearly a companion release.
One track we do know: "Flower in a Hurricane", performed by Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It premiered in the Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026, and Rockstar has been pushing it as the game's signature tune. It's a funky, sun-soaked crime jam that feels like a natural heir to the series' iconic radio hits.
How to Pre-Order or Pre-Save (What We Know So Far)
Rockstar hasn't named specific retailers or streaming platforms. Based on past releases, the vinyl and CD will likely appear on the Rockstar Warehouse and major music outlets like Amazon or local record stores. For streaming, expect a pre-save option on Spotify, Apple Music, and similar services — usually a link that adds the album to your library the moment it drops.
If you're hunting for a physical copy, keep an eye on Rockstar's official site and social channels. Given the $399.99 "Goodtime State – Vice City Collection" (which doesn't include the game or soundtrack), I'd wager the vinyl will be a standalone purchase — possibly a limited pressing, so act fast when links go live.
What We Expect (But Rockstar Hasn't Said)
Rockstar loves a good physical release. GTA V had a box set, and Red Dead Redemption 2 got a vinyl edition. It's reasonable to expect Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album to drop around the game's November 19, 2026 launch, or very shortly after. The tracklist is still a mystery, but it'll likely blend licensed radio bangers with original score pieces from Justice and other contributors. Don't be surprised if a digital purchase option (iTunes, Amazon Music) appears alongside the streaming pre-save.
The lead single "Flower in a Hurricane" might get its own single release or music video, but that's pure speculation.
Still Unknown
Here's what we're still in the dark about:
- Exact release date — not confirmed. It could be November 19, 2026, or later.
- Price — vinyl and CD costs haven't been announced.
- Tracklist — beyond the one single, nada.
- Retailers — no official store links yet.
- Inclusion with game editions — neither the Standard ($79.99) nor Ultimate ($99.99) editions mention the soundtrack. The collectible set is a separate merchandise bundle.
For now, the best move is to bookmark Rockstar's official GTA 6 page and follow their announcements. As someone who still flips through liner notes, I'm hoping for a chunky vinyl gatefold with Vice City neon artwork. Fingers crossed.

The Vice City radio stations really set the gold standard for atmospheric driving, so hearing that physical editions are returning makes me nostalgic. A proper vinyl release with gorgeous gatefold art would look incredible on a display shelf. That blend of artists on the featured track already sounds like perfect coastal sunset cruising music.
It looks pretty on a shelf, sure, but my wallet is already groaning just imagining the shipping fees from their official store. Video game vinyl releases always come with such a hefty collector premium. If it ends up costing a fortune, I'll happily stick to streaming it for free while doing supply runs.
Bold of you to assume the physical pressings won't just vanish to bots in ten seconds flat anyway. I'm just hoping the audio mastering on the album actually gives the dynamic range some room to breathe instead of brickwalling everything into mush. Though knowing Rockstar, we won't get any technical specs until the day it drops.
Rockstar's press release confirms vinyl and compact disc formats alongside digital pre-saves, though official distributor listings remain pending. Precedent from past studio releases suggests initial availability through the publisher's storefront before wider distribution. Complete track counts, packaging specifications, and manufacturer details have not yet been disclosed by the company.
