Standard vs. Ultimate: Which GTA 6 Edition Are You Picking Up?
Back in the PS2 days, a new GTA was a single $50 box. Now we’re staring down $79.99 for the Standard edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate. That $20 jump gets you exclusive premium vehicles, apparel, personalized weapons, story-threaded content, and two Vehicle Mod Shops. It’s a solid bundle of in-game goodies, but I can’t help wondering if it’s just digital fluff or something that actually deepens the Leonida experience.
Here’s the kicker: pre-orders before November 20 snag the Vintage Vice City Pack regardless of edition—a two-tone ’55 Vapid Stanier, the Shore Court Garage, throwback outfits, and a weapon pattern. So that nostalgic Vice City flavor isn’t locked behind the Ultimate paywall. Plus, Rockstar says Standard owners can upgrade later if they change their mind. With mod shops and vehicle customization looking deeper than ever, those two extra shops might be a real draw for gearheads. But is it enough to justify the premium right out of the gate?
I’m torn—I love the idea of story-threaded extras, but $20 could also cover a month of GTA+ or a chunk of the eventual PC version. What’s your take? Are you going Ultimate for the full package, or sticking with Standard and waiting for an upgrade? Does the inclusion of mod shops and exclusive apparel sway you, or is this just another collector’s trap? Sound off in the discussions!
