Meet the GTA 6 Supporting Cast: Boobie Ike, Raul Bautista, and More
While the dual-protagonist setup with Jason and Lucia gets the headlines, a GTA world lives and dies by its supporting cast. Rockstar has drip-fed official blurbs on a handful of key side characters, and as someone who cares more about NPC pathfinding complexity than celebrity cameos, I’m cautiously intrigued. Here’s what we know, what we can guess, and what’s still a mystery about the GTA 6 supporting cast.
Confirmed Supporting Cast
Rockstar’s official website and press materials have named these characters:
- Cal Hampton: Jason’s friend, described as a homebody who snoops on Coast Guard comms. Sounds like your go-to guy for offshore heist intel or maybe just a paranoid radio enthusiast. Either way, expect to hear him crackling through your earpiece during boat-based missions.
- Boobie Ike: A Vice City legend and businessman with fingers in strip clubs, real estate, and a recording studio. He’s the kind of NPC who’ll probably give you missions that blur the line between legitimate empire-building and outright crime. His name alone guarantees some memorable dialogue.
- Dre’Quan Priest: Runs the Only Raw Records label, backed by Boobie. He signed the rap duo Real Dimez. Expect him to be the music industry connection, likely pulling strings in the city’s cultural underbelly.
- Real Dimez: Bae-Luxe and Roxy, friends since high school and a rap duo with a massive social media following. Rockstar is leaning hard into the influencer culture satire, so these two might be involved in missions centered on clout-chasing, viral stunts, or the dark side of fame.
- Raul Bautista: A charismatic veteran bank robber looking for new talent. That screams “heist crew recruiter.” He’ll probably be the Lester Crest of Leonida, but with a sunburn and a better wardrobe.
- Brian Heder: An older man who ran drugs during the golden age of smuggling in the Keys. Given that actor Stephen Root has confirmed a role in the game (without naming the character), many fans suspect he voices Heder. If true, expect a grizzled, folksy mentor figure with a dark past.
How They Might Fit In (Speculation)
None of this is confirmed, but based on GTA V’s structure, these characters will likely serve as mission-givers, crew members, or narrative anchors for specific regions. Boobie Ike and Dre’Quan Priest could tie into the Vice City nightlife and music scenes, while Raul Bautista and Brian Heder might anchor the heist and smuggling arcs respectively. Cal Hampton’s Coast Guard snooping hints at maritime smuggling or high-seas chases.
The dual-protagonist system means we might see these characters interact differently with Jason and Lucia. Raul might trust Lucia’s no-nonsense attitude, while Boobie could favor Jason’s street-smart charm. Rockstar has always been good at weaving side characters into the main plot, so expect betrayals, unexpected alliances, and at least one “one last job” speech. I just hope the AI routines for these NPCs don’t cause frame drops when they’re all on screen during a chaotic heist—though knowing Rockstar’s console-first optimization, I’ll be gritting my teeth on my PC when it finally arrives, supposedly in Q1 2027 if the rumors pan out.
What Rockstar Hasn’t Told Us Yet
We still don’t know the full scope of the supporting cast. Is there a corrupt politician? A rival gang leader? A love interest outside the main duo? The fact sheet is silent on antagonists, and Rockstar’s trailers have only hinted at shadowy figures. Also, the exact nature of Boobie Ike’s “legend” status, Raul’s backstory, and whether Real Dimez are just background flavor or full-fledged mission contacts remains unconfirmed. And until we see the credits, we won’t know which actors are voicing these roles beyond the Stephen Root rumor.
One thing’s for sure: with a game this big, the supporting cast will need to be more than just quest dispensers. They’ll need to feel like part of the world—and given Rockstar’s track record, I’m cautiously optimistic. Just don’t expect them to run at a locked 60fps on a Steam Deck.

I just hope these side figures tie into actual gameplay systems instead of just handing out linear story beats. GTA V had the right idea with hiring crew members who level up, but it barely scratched the surface. If working with Boobie Ike lets us manage legitimate fronts or make tangible trade-offs with rival syndicates, that would give the world real weight. Otherwise, colorful personalities only go so far when every mission plays out the exact same way.
As long as those trade-offs do not involve listening to Cal ramble over the radio while we wait for an arbitrary trigger. Rockstar loves making you drive at a crawl while NPCs exposition at you, which completely kills the pacing on repeat runs. Give me tight mission objectives and let the dialogue play while we are actually moving fast, not stuck parked by a pier waiting for an audio file to finish.
Honestly, the music industry angle with Dre'Quan and Real Dimez has me really excited for the ambient world-building. Vice City has always been about its sonic identity. If we hear their tracks playing out of passing cars or catch snippets of local drama on the radio before even meeting them, it makes the entire setting feel alive and lived-in. Rockstar usually nails that specific environmental storytelling.
Ambient vibes are neat, but I am mostly looking at Boobie Ike and wondering if he means passive income businesses. In previous games, buying into studios or clubs cost a fortune and took dozens of hours just to break even. If I am doing favors for a music mogul and a real estate tycoon, the cut better hit my bank account immediately. Gas and ammo are not going to pay for themselves in Vice City.
